A game you must see if you like the WNBA. An injury suffered Lynx have strengthened their line-up with Sylvia Fowles, the giant center. “Big Syl” is one of the league’s biggest and certainly best centers, which, among other things, has been named “defensive player of the year” twice in her career. It will be cool to see how she fits into this star-studded Lynx team. Los Angeles has not made a trade to reinforce during the All Star break, however, their returning superstar Candace Parker (pictured), who´s rested until now, will make her season debut. Parker, who´s won the award as the league MVP (most valuable player) twice will definitely give Sparks a lift from day one, cause she´s a brilliant player. Minnesota (12 wins, 4 losses) are huge favorites in tonights game. But they have traded away Dantas, they have Simone Augustus injured and there are also question marks for the team’s best guard Lindsay Whalen’s, if she will play or not. Maya Moore, who set a record for the number of points in an All-Star Game (30) during the weekend, will be pulling an extremely heavy load if Whalen can´t play. Moore is damned good, Anna Cruz can contribute both offensively and defensively, especially with her speed, but how is the shape of Sylvia Fowles? Behind these three is the Lynx is pretty thin. Los Angeles (3 wins, 13 losses) are better than their record shows and the Sparks playoff dream is not quite dead yet, then there are several bad teams (Seattle, San Antonio) in the Western Conference. Will we see a Candace Parker effect this night? It is not impossible and the 4.52 odds on a L.A victory is tempting. My pick tonight is the L.A Sparks. Pinnacle Sports has the best odds today.
